Solör Bioenergi acquire Lantmännen Agrovärme
Solör Bioenergi announced that the company is acquiring Lantmännen Agrovärme incl. subsidiaries. The acquisition, which includes 19 facilities in southern and central Sweden, means that Solör further strengthens its position as one of the largest players in the Swedish and Nordic district heating market.
Solör Bioenergy Group is a leading player in renewable energy based on wood fuels with 465,000 users every day. The company has 249 locations in Sweden and Norway in particular, where they produce and distribute district heating, steam and electricity to homes, companies, public businesses, and industries. The business also includes energy recovery of impregnated wood and production of biofuel. By making use of the forest’s resources, Solör Bioenergi wants to pave the way for a sustainable society with reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
Lantmännen Agrovärme produces, distributes, and sells district heating to approximately 1,100 customers from 19 facilities in southern and central Sweden. The district heating mainly comes from burning locally produced biofuels, such as wood chips, energy forest, wood pellets and waste from agriculture. Since 2019, biochar has also been produced in several of Agrovärme’s facilities.
For Solör Bioenergi, the acquisition means that the position on the Swedish and Nordic markets is further strengthened.
– Lantmännen Agrovärme with their 19 plants fits in very well with Solör’s other operations and is further proof of our successful growth in the Swedish district heating market, says Martinus Brandal Chairman & CEO Solör Bioenergy Group.
The closing of the transaction in Lantmännen Agrovärme will take effect in September 2022.
